Northwest Pt. 1 (So are you a Portlandian?)

I was lucky enough to travel to Washington and Oregon in late July. We started out in Seattle for the first night. That morning we rented a car and then traveled to Mt. Rainier National Park, after Mt. Rainier, we travelled to Portland. Since I have a lot of pictures I decided to split the trip up into three blogs. Northwest Pt. 1 is going to feature Portland.

Portland, OR was amazing we saw John Butler Trio and toured the city. I felt right at home in the city, and it reminded me so much of Milwaukee and the down to earth people in the Midwest. We met some great people, it seemed like everyone had ties to Wisconsin or was from Wisconsin. Anyways, I seemed to drink a little too much and forgot to take pictures. I even forgot my camera at a bar at one point (Oops). Here is what I got from my amazing time in and around Portland.

Just outside Portland is the Columbia River Gorge, it is totally worth the trip as Multnomah Falls is incredible. We went when it was raining and luckily wore our hiking shoes. People were there in regular shoes and were slipping all over the place. If you go, please don't go in sandals, you will fall.

Cannon Beach, OR is about a 1.5 hour drive outside the city. It is near Seaside, OR which seems to be more popular than Cannon Beach. I would suggest Cannon Beach over Seaside any day. It is a beautiful beach and cool little town. I could of spent all day here. Its also the beach that was in the Goonies.
